God the Father in the Bible

Scripture reveals God as a loving Father who watches over His children with tenderness and faithfulness. In 2 Corinthians 1:3 He is called "the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort," showing that His heart turns toward those who suffer. In Christ, we are not merely creatures before a Creator, but adopted sons and daughters who can call Him "Abba, Father." Romans 8:15 declares that we have received "the Spirit of adoption, by whom we cry, 'Abba, Father,'" the sign of an intimate and trusting relationship. The heavenly Father differs from human fathers by the perfection and eternity of His love. Matthew 7:11 teaches that if imperfect fathers know how to give good gifts to their children, how much more will the Father in heaven give good things to those who ask Him. Psalm 103:13 adds, "As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him." These verses unveil the fatherly heart of God, who provides, protects, comforts, and loves without failing. They offer a sure and stable identity to all who draw near to Him by faith, reminding them that they are deeply known and infinitely loved by the Father.
