Eternality in the Bible
Eternality is the attribute of God that describes His existence without beginning or end. Scripture presents the Lord as the One who transcends time itself, dwelling in an unending present that frames all created history. Moses confessed this truth when he prayed, "Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever you had formed the earth and the world, from everlasting to everlasting you are God" (Psalm 90:2). Here the psalmist contrasts the fleeting span of human life with the boundless permanence of the Creator, who was God before the world existed and will be God when it has passed away. The risen Christ claims this same eternal nature: "I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end, says the Lord God, who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty" (Revelation 1:8).
